The content of the course aims to provide the trainee with the skill and knowledge to obtain all the relevant NVQ assessments. There are no formal examinations as each Unit is assessed against an industrial criteria. Each NVQ is made up of Units all of which have to be passed to qualify for a NVQ Certificate.

Course Content: NVQ Level 2

• Erect and dismantle access platforms (scaffolding).
  
• Contribute to the provision of efficient working practices.
• Sheet materials - plastering.
• Internal solid - plastering.
• Fibrous plasterwork - moulding and casting.
• External solid work - plastering.
• Produce and install components - fibrous plastering
• Screeding
• Structural repairs.
• Cement casting.
• Record and maintain information - site measurement.
• Dry lining.

NVQ Level 3

• Contribute to the planning, organisation, monitoring, control and evaluation of operational activities.
• Maintain working conditions and operational activities to meet
• quality standards.
• Complex internal solid work - plastering.
• Complex external solid work - plastering.
• Fixing complex fibrous plasterwork.
• Produce components from procured materials - complex fibrous plasterwork.
• Provide surface finishing - Granolithic work.
• Provide surface finishing - complex insitu mouldings - plastering.

Costs: All College Fees, NVQ Registration and any allied costs are met by GBCT from
Government Funding under the Jobskills/Modern Apprenticeship Schemes.

Progress: GBCT Training Adviser will carry out at least two Progress Visits at College and three on Site annually. A written report will be given to the Trainee with a copy to the employer.
