Who are we:

funding through the Learning & Skills Council to pay
for all off-the-job training.

Refrigeration Engineering
Training available:
We would meet all costs to
enrol you at College and pay your fees and any allied costs.
You would normally attend College on a day-release basis
one day per week.
Training is normally of 3/4 years duration during which
time you would be working towards achieving NVQ (National
Vocational Qualification) Level II and Level III.
Employment:
We make every effort to match you
with a suitable employer. This means that you will be an
employed trainee working with a qualified craftsman who
will provide you with on-the-job training to coincide with
the training you receive at College
Entry requirements:
Ideally you should be between the
ages of 16-18 years. No special academic qualifications
are required but certain trades need higher grades than
others. If you do not have your GCSE results then we would
ask you to take a simple aptitude test.
Interested?
Then all you have to do is write or
telephone or fill in the online application form, so that
we can arrange an interview.

CASE STUDY- ANDREW ROLF
I have known Andrew Rolf for over two years
in my capacity as his Training Adviser.
Andrew left Patcham High School at the
age of 16 and went to work as a CAD draughtsman for the
Hemsley Orrell Partnership and during that time I assessed
and monitored his training for his HNC in Civil Engineering.
In 1998 he gained his ONC and in 2000 achieved
his HNC with, I am sure you will agree, exceptional marks
and on the strength of these was offered an unconditional
place at Leeds University to study Civil Engineering (Meng).
In the last two years he has been involved
in starting projects from survey and design to Building
Regulation approval. He has also been involved in structural
surveys, i.e. rooms in the roof and structural support of
brick work chimneys. He is very proficient in CAD work and
has been on site doing site measuring and drawings and in
recent times he has been heavily involved in the refurbishment
of Debenhams~ in Western Road, Brighton, and has just completed
his first project from calculations to drawings.
I am sure you will agree with me that this
young man, from seen fingly quiet beginnings in the workplace
has blossomed into a proficient technician and that the
industry can be proud of him.
I have no hesitation in putting him
forward for the Sussex Cup.
